Merrin graduated with first-class honours in Master of Occupational Therapy - Developmental Pediatrics from the Manipal Academy of Higher Education. Whilst pursuing her tertiary education she has not only worked in acute and rehabilitative settings, but she has also collaborated with schools and community rehab units to support the child in the desired school and non-academic related activities otherwise referred to as ‘occupations’. She’s well-known for using play as a means to facilitate the developmental skills of the child.

Merrin developed her passion for working with special needs children from an early age while following in her mother’s footsteps. She has worked with children with various abilities and disabilities and believes that children learn best through meaningful activities that are fun and motivating. Merrin is passionate about assisting and supporting children to reach their potential as well as their families.

She has had formal training in the assessment and intervention of sensory integration, handwriting, play skills, visual perceptual skills, motor and processing skills and managing challenging behaviours.

​

During her free time, Merrin is either trekking, being in the outdoors, cooking or getting lost in music and performance.
