Ivy is a multilingual therapist, who joined Total Communication Therapy from New Zealand. Being born in Taiwan, raised in New Zealand, and taught English in Japan for 4 years, she has a wealth of experience working with people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds. Fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Japanese, Ivy is passionate about using her language abilities to reach and help more people in need.

Ivy works closely with other Educational Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists, and Educational psychologists with her Master of Speech and Language Pathology degree from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Psychology and a minor in Japanese from the same university.

During her time in Japan, she experienced first-hand the importance of communication, and the difficulties children encounter in school. She felt driven to help those who have fallen through the cracks of mainstream education, which led her to return to New Zealand and complete her Master of Speech and Language Pathology. As part of her degree, Ivy worked with children with a range of communication and literacy difficulties. She is excited to bring her experience and skills to Total Communication here in Singapore.

Ivy works with children and adolescents using Karen Stagnitti’s Learn to Play, Visualizing & Verbalizing, Lindamood-Bell LiPS, Seeing Stars, and Feuerstein for learning.

In her spare time, Ivy enjoys reading, arts and crafts, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. She also hopes to take up archery and yosakoi dancing again in the near future.
