Speech and Language Pathology

Speech and Language Pathologists work on the underlying deficits of academic and communication challenges to maximize potential of school aged children whose academic performance are affected by their language deficiencies.

Caseload:
  • Children who are late talkers and are not meeting their developmental milestones.
  • Children or adolescents who have been diagnosed as having Autism Spectrum Disorders or Asperger’s.
  • Children or adolescent who are stuttering
  • Children or adolescent who have unclear speech
  • Children or adolescent who have syndromes and are facing difficulty in speech language and learning
  • Children or adolescent who have difficulty in communication or speaking effectively in mainstream class settings
Educational
Therapy


Our Educational Therapists play a special role in our centre. They are specially trained by our SLPs to take our goals on board when tutoring the student; their respective training provides them with the necessary expertise to assist the child through academic settings.

Educational Therapists deal with:
  • Providing literacy support for those who struggle with acquiring reading skills
  • Tutoring school aged children who has learning disabilities in math, using sensory based teaching methods
  • Providing life skills support to those with difficulty in conceptualizing relativity of amounts and problem solving
Home Support

Our Special Education Teachers take the remediation approach of the SLPs very seriously and are supervised by the SLPS to ensure that goals are well integrated. Our qualified special education teachers are in a position to help generalize concepts learned in school during intervention in home settings.

Home Therapists services:
  • Providing support to children who are on the spectrum (particularly those who are highly dysregulated; low functioning)
  • Providing support to children who have cognitive delay
  • Providing life-skills support to adolescents who are on the autism spectrum and are struggling to find sense in the world
  • Carrying out goals set by SLP for a speech language delayed child, whose parents are finding it difficult to implement the weekly goals suggestions provided by the SLP for the client
